The council’s draft NDP foresees no ‘settlement areas’ as such in order that sizeable housing developments are prevented and the housing targets are met by ‘windfall’ houses where appropriate that are in keeping with the rural nature of the village.
To sit alongside the NDP we will create a design code document which sets out the types of constructions the council thinks are acceptable, the preferred materials and overall appearance of such houses.
Government funds will be used to draw up the design code and two consultants are coming on 6th December 1pm – 3pm to visit the parish and gather information and views. They will then attend the parish council meeting in the evening to outline their thoughts.
If anyone is interested in taking part we will meet at The Crown at 1pm on 6th December.
