There are many ways to get involved with our work on Broadmoor Common.
You are always welcome, and you can contribute as much or as little time as you can afford. As well as making a difference to the future of the common, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the natural history of this Local Nature Reserve, learn new skills and meet people.
Join one of our work parties.
We hold several workdays throughout the year. Volunteers supplement the work of our contractors and make an important contribution to the management of the common. You are welcome to stay for as long as you wish. We can provide tools, or you can use your own. You will be covered by Parish Council insurance while you are volunteering with us.
Become a member of the management steering group
and influence the longer-term
management of the common. We meet three or four times a year to review progress against the management plan, decide what to do next and how to do it. Between meetings we work together or individually to put our plans into practice. New members are very welcome.
Surveying
Are you skilled at identifying plants or animals? You can help us by keeping a note of what you see and letting us know if you spot anything unusual.
Fundraising
We are funded by Woolhope Parish Council, by applications to grant making trusts and by donations. We are supported by local farmers and by volunteers. For larger projects such as pond restoration and woodland management we employ contractors.
The more funds we can raise, the more work we can do.
